The recent email about our 2026 MCAP scores was concerning. The email celebrates that Black students hit 44.3% proficiency in ELA (above the state’s 40.7%) and that PGCPS ranked 8th statewide for Black student ELA proficiency, which is great. But it seemed to imply that the low overall ranking is due to “other” groups. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but I just think it was poorly worded and framed.

Ooh what did it say?! I feel like I get SO many PGCPS emails and half the time I’m not sure which ones actually matter 😅 Can you share more of what it said? Trying to make sure I’m not missing anything important!
